When using a call to action most business owners try to reinvent the wheel. They try to take something that works and turn it into something better. However, that usually goes up in flames.
In the next few minutes, I’m going to show you a couple of different things you can do to build a monster call to action that no one can ignore.
Let’s get into it.
=Use The Right Tool For The Job=
The CTA is a fantastic bit of kit that every company needs to be using.
Problem is, most are misusing it. Imagine trying to hammer a nail into a wall with a screwdriver. Yes, it’s somewhat doable but in 99% of cases it really doesn’t work.
When they use the CTA in their ads it’s extremely unclear and usually leaves the audience thinking “what am I actually getting?”
=Why Being Unclear Is Detrimental To Your Ads=
How many ads have you seen recently that have had an unclear CTA?
I came across one a couple of days ago, I’m pretty sure it was about home insurance. It was hard to tell which is a very bad sign. We’ll get to why in a later article.
The CTA in the ad read: “Complete this form and save an average of £5000.”
That’s all well and good but what are we saving £5000 on? A new car? A boat? Who knows. More to the point, what will I have to do to save it?
Little do they know, this deters customers like lacing your house with garlic to keep the vampires away.
Why?
Who wants to apply for something if they don’t know what to expect?
“Click here to book your free 30-minute call.” Why would I give you 30 minutes of my time? I don’t know you.”
Zero context leads to zero conversions.
=The Only Solution To Your Problem=
Luckily, solving this is waaaaaaay simpler than you might think.
Just like anything in marketing, the best way to solve this issue is to be crystal clear and to the point.
An effective CTA tells the viewer exactly what they are getting.
For example: “Click below, fill out the form and we’ll be in touch to discuss how you can get 10 more clients in the next 30 days!”
Next point.
If you’re feeling particularly bold you can add some urgency to your CTA’s to help with conversion time.
You know, something like: Get in touch today or buy now. It just gives them that little extra push they need.
That’s ads covered.
If we’re talking about CTA’s on a webpage we ideally want them to fit on a button. Like this:

It’s bright, bold, and easily catches your eye.
You also want to make sure when people click the button, they go to a page that is actually relevant. If not, they’ll be gone.
There’s a popular ad going around at the minute which you might have seen on Instagram. You scan a QR code to see images of someone cheating. Then when you scan it, you get taken to a jewelry page.
I mean, if you’ve come for pictures why would you want jewelry? This is what we call a disconnect. And it’s one of the worst mistakes you can make when marketing.
This button leads to our contact form where you’ll find out how you can get more growth and more clients.

Summary:
Make your call to action as simple and clear as possible. Tell your audience exactly what to expect, make it eye-catching, and make sure it’s relevant.
A good call to action will supercharge your conversion rate substantially.
