The best part is, they cost nothing to implement and they don’t take a lot of effort. So there’s no excuse.

It’s Not Just A Website



Your website is the front page of your business, the goal is to get as much traffic to it as possible. In recent months I’ve discovered more and more business owners tend to think that once their site is up and running, the work is done.


Oh, how I wish that were true.


But unfortunately, it’s not.


While getting traffic to your website isn’t really that hard, it tends to take up most of your time Especially if you're just trying random stuff.


Spoiler alert, this never usually ends well.


I get it, it’s pretty much the last thing on your mind when you have a jam-packed schedule along with your family life and never-ending quest to bring back the dinosaurs. (Or maybe that’s just me.)



How Could I Fix This?



Don’t panic, there are a million ways to increase your site traffic. 


You can learn search engine optimisation (SEO), or online marketing and web design. These are pretty decent options if you have an eternity to spend learning and building the skills to a level where they will actually work.


Or you can outsource these jobs to freelancers instead.

However, that's where things get expensive. To hire for all these positions you’ll be looking at a pretty big budget, and depending on the type of business you run, that could be a stretch.

Step 1: Make your content as shareable as possible.


So you have your content, let’s use a blog article for this example.


You’ve done your research, put in the hours, and written an article that you know will be a hit. 

You publish it on your blog and that's it. 


That’s all well and good but why would you stop there?

If you're solving a problem you want to spread the word as much as possible. Your best bet is to add social media share buttons.


This way your readers can also share your article with friends and then it can snowball from there. This can increase your site traffic by an average of 53.35 percent. Which is equal to a whole lot of sales.


Step 2: Link EVERYTHING to your website.


So you have some content out there: tweets, blog articles, Facebook / Instagram posts, and, if you're especially awesome, maybe even an email newsletter.

In every piece of content you publish, you want to add links that lead to your website.


Ideally, we want to set a standard for how many links we put in our content. 

We can have 1 link on our regular social media posts. And on larger pieces of content like blog articles and email newsletters you want to aim for 3-5 links. 


This will also help boost your ranking on Google so you appear closer to the top of the search results. This is a great start for your website's SEO. It’s a two-for-one. 



Step 3 Send out Awesome email newsletters promoting your content.


Email lists are one of marketing's secret weapons. It’s almost impossible to beat the return on investment they give. 


An email newsletter is a great way to massively boost your site traffic. You’ll have seen examples of this if you've signed up for an email newsletter of some sort. Could be on the latest dog toys or maybe about growing a T-rex in a jar. The point is if they are done right, they give you an uncontrollable urge to visit the site.


When this happens to the right person, BOOM! There’s a sale.


You want to have a solid schedule put together for sending your newsletters. You can’t be sloppy with this because there are some people who might have to see 2 or 3 of them to visit your site.


But when done right you can build a regular following of people who can’t wait to see what you do next. It’s these people who are the easiest to turn into paying customers and that's what it’s all about.
