In the last article, we talked about how to structure your writing for the best results. Check it out here -> https://www.byrmarketinguk.com/post/get-more-attention-by-creating-awesome-content-part-1
Now let’s move on to the most important step in creating awesome content.
By the end of this, you’ll know the ultimate trick that will make your content so awesome that your reader will be glued to the screen and addicted to your stuff.
This trick will make your writing 100X better. Best part is, what you're learning here took me years to discover so you’re already 10 steps ahead of your competition.
=The Time I Got Destroyed=
Writing can be a tough skill to master. Yes, some people are naturally good at it but most of us couldn’t write a letter to grandma without her falling asleep.
If you’re anything like I was, you’ve got a lot of work to do.
Way back in the day when I was at school we got an assignment to write a short story, I think it was about our pets.
Anyway, I finished up and handed my story in to the teacher.
I was really proud of it.
Let's just say she wasn’t.
I got absolutely destroyed.
It was so bad she hung it on the whiteboard to show everyone how not to write a story.
Even though it was her job to teach me how to write.
=The Writing Dilemma=
The point is, without good writing, it’s really hard to make good content.
And without good content, it’s extremely hard to get attention for your business.
There’s so many techniques and tricks to effective writing. It can take years to master and even then, you’ll still find stuff you don’t know.
Do you really have years to sacrifice learning how to write properly? Will your business even last that long without your full attention?
Pair learning a stupidly complicated skill with running a business and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a meltdown.
Let’s not do that.
Let's use this trick instead.
=The Legendary BAR Test=
So what is it?
It's really simple, let me show you.
Get a piece of paper and write a short paragraph about your day.
Most people will end up with something like this:
I woke up at 7, went downstairs, had my breakfast, and got ready for work.
I went to work, had a good day and I came home.
Would you really say this in conversation? Specifically to someone at a BAR? Could be a cute girl, a friend, or just a random dude.
No, you wouldn’t. Or at least I hope not.
It would go something like this:
I woke up at my usual time, which is around 7. Got up half asleep and almost fell down the stairs. By this time I was already late for work. Luckily though I managed to miss all the traffic so I actually got there on time, absolutely smashed it. I even broke the company sales record.
See how the second paragraph works? It flows and is much less boring. You can actually hear yourself saying this to someone.
This works with all content.
Facebook and Instagram posts, tweets, blog articles And most importantly Ads.
Can be Meta, Google, or any other platform you decide to use.
It works on them all.
Write your content and then read it out loud. Think "would I say this to someone at a bar?" By doing this you’ll be able to easily pick up where it doesn't flow well or doesn’t make sense.
Once you start using this, you’ll be hooked
It’s awesome.
